Known Relatives: Howard Anthony Stark (father, deceased), Maria Collins Carbonell Stark (mother, deceased), Morgan Stark (cousin), Edward Stark (uncle, deceased), Isaac Stark, Sr., Isaac Stark, Jr. (ancestors, deceased)
Powers: Due to the effects of the Extremis enhancile, nearly every part of Tony's body was regrown on a redesigned template, giving him enhanced sensory perception and physical abilities, greatly optimizing the efficiency of his internal organs, and giving him a powerful healing factor. The other most notable effect of Extremis is a powerful technopathy ability - Tony is able to interface with all manner of technology using only his mind, especially his Iron Man armor. His mental processes have been accelerated considerably to enable him to keep up with any computer in the world, to the point where he can control several suits at the same time remotely, and often is multitasking even while in combat, managing his business and working on new technology. Finally. part of this armor, the inner neural interface layer, is actually stored inside Tony's bones, making him, as he put it, "Iron Man - inside and out".
Abilities: Tony has a genius level intellect, and is widely regarded to be perhaps the world's greatest authority on electronics, especially in miniaturized components - he is also one of the world's greatest weapon designers, having designed weaponry in his teens that surpasses nearly anything produced before or since, and his Iron Man combat armor and weapons platform is among the most advanced and most powerful pieces of technology ever built. This same intelligence also makes him a very creative combatant, especially when it comes to discovering potential weaknesses in enemies and adapting his tactics quickly to exploit them. While he does not specialize in hand to hand combat, he is trained by Captain America himself in such, and trains regularly to keep himself in shape, which makes him dangerous nonetheless even outside of his armor.
Weakness: Outside of the armor, Tony is as easy to injure as any human - though his relatively recently acquired healing factor makes him much more difficult to terminate. He is highly reliant on his armor, and his ability to fight is severely hampered should it be disabled - in fact, should the armor somehow lose power with him inside, its weight and the servo locks will render him immobile.
Paraphernalia and Equipment: Tony uses and designs countless devices and weapons, but his primary - and by far the most iconic - piece of hardware is the Iron Man battle armor. The most recent iteration of this armor is the successor to the Extremis armor, so named because it is only wearable thanks to the networking functions of the Extremis enhancile, and was completed only a few weeks after awaking from his two-year coma, as a way to make up for lost time, and catch up in the arms race.
Iron Man Armor/Weapons Platform
Designation: Iron Man Model 31, or the Iron Man Metallo-Mimetic Suit Mk IV
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 275 lbs
Control Systems: Unlike the models of the Iron Man suit prior to the Extremis enhancile, the EX Mk II, like its predecessor the Mk I, has little of the sophisticated control systems that translated the wearer's nerve impulses into the suit's movement.
Armor Composition: Crystalline iron mesh -a molecularly aligned matrix of crystallized iron enhanced by magnetic fields over layers of other metals like titanium, creating a shell that is pliable, yet capable of amazing resilience and protection, reinforced with thin adamantium strips under bracers, chest plate, and lower legs. The iron mesh is flexible until an electrical field is applied, allowing it to be stored in a briefcase or similar small space where the components would not normally fit. Once connected and powered, however, the material is one of the strongest substances known to man, surpassed only by adamantium and vibranium, or the alloy in Captain America's shield. This latest model, however, employs thin filaments of adamantium in crucial areas to provide additional structural rigidity while still allowing for the necessary flexibility when unpowered. These strands do little to improve the actual strength of the armor material, but they make it far more resistant to crushing or other forms of deformation, increasing the actual ability of the armor to protect the man inside by a significant amount - much like rebar in construction. In addition to the protection it provides from kinetic impact, the armor also has additional layers to provide protection against heat, electricity, and radiation, and can be sealed completely for operation in vaccum or against chemical attacks. When sealed, the suit contains an extensive system for air recycling, and can provide full life-support for extended periods.
Power Systems: As previous models, the EX Mk II is powered by a combination of Tony's generator technology (which uses beta-particle absorbtion to generate massive amounts of power), solar absorbing circuits built into the armor, and a set of atomic batteries for reserve power. As such, unlike previous models, power consumption is rarely a problem, however system overload can occur if the armor is pushed too hard (of course, too hard is very hard indeed). In emergencies, the armor can also be supplied with power via the 'induction grid', which converts energy in the air (such as electrical discharge or extreme heat) into power to move the suit.
Propulsion: The armor is primarily propelled by the Vectored Repulsor Flight System (VRFS), which uses the pushing functions of the repulsor technology to achieve lift and maneuvering capability, as well as primary propulsion at speeds of up to 300mph in atmosphere. Beyond this, the armor's turbines kick in, and are capable of accelerating the armor to Mach 8.7 (6,622.5 mph). These are capable of operation in both air-breathing and anaerobic modes, depending on need, though the anaerobic mode is far more power-intensive. At speeds above Mach 5, however, the new scramjet units installed in the back and boots can activate, giving the new suit a projected top speed of nearly Mach 30 (almost the same speed achieved by the Space Shuttle and Apollo spacecraft), allowing both for rapid travel globally and easily giving the armor enough power to break atmosphere. Outside atmosphere, however, the lack of oxygen renders the scramjet inoperable, though the efficiency of the repulsors is greatly improved. Recent improvements have resulted in a variable mode system for the boot turbines which allows for more significant thrust in a zero-oxygen environment. The armor is then, however, limited to an acceleration of 17 'gees' by Tony's ability to endure the force, though it is capable of more. The suit also posesses a supercavitation generator that allows the suit to generate an extremely high frequency vibration in the exterior shell, which can create a frictionless sheath of air around the suit in water or similar environments, for high speed operation in these areas as well.
Sensor Suite: One of the primary marvels of the Iron Man weapons platform has always been excellent sensor technology, and this suit is no exception. The EX Mk II packs highly advanced radar and lidar (laser based radar systems), sonar, infrared and ultraviolet, magnetic resonance imaging, and a whole host of less conventional systems (such as the electron microscopes installed in the gauntlets), making the armor one of the closest things available to the Everything Sensor so often seen in science fiction.
Defensive Systems: The EX Mk II suit contains the same jamming, cloaking, and image inducer functionality of the previous Iron Man models, as well as tricks such as chaff and flares, but adds a new force field functionality that had been abandoned since some of the earlier models. The new force fields are based on the vectored repulsor technology first used in the EX Mk I, and are used mainly to deflect incoming attacks and strengthen damaged armor sections, or to defend nearby allies. The other primary function of the shield system is to streamline the armor at hypersonic velocities, protecting the suit - and the man inside it - from the intense temperatures that built up at such speeds.
Offensive Systems: The new suit contains updated versions of the standard iconic Iron Man weapons, the repulsors and unibeam, though with a few more recent modifications. The repulsors (particle beam systems used to generate powerful bursts of concussive force, currently in the Mk 23 iteration) are the most potent yet produced, and are capable of multi and omnidirectional attacks, known as the "full form" mode setting. The 'Unibeam", emitted from the glowing aperture in the chestplate, is also updated with enhanced repulsor and heat functionality, and the 'Blockbuster' mode setting has also been improved, allowing for the use of the unibeam and repulsors in concert to produce an incredibly damaging attack (at the cost of a great deal of power). The armor is also armed with swarms of tiny, spherical drones that are released from the shoulders and gauntlets, each of which contains its own small repulsor unit for flight, sensors, image inducers, and a tiny but powerful explosive charge. When operating in concert with a group of their fellows, the drones are also capable of generating a short lived but powerful force field for various purposes. The gauntlets also contain a wide array of tools and equipment in the fingertips, and 'gravity grips' that allow superior traction on any surface (these are also built into the boots). New to the Mk II variant, however, are the micro-missiles in the shoulders (one 5-barrel launcher in each), which are small but extremely fast missiles, which can be set to either deliver a powerful explosive charge or to a high-velocity mode to intercept enemy munitions. Also new is the hypervelocity missile launchers installed in each bracer. While the system only carries four missiles (two in each arm), and the missiles consist almost solely of a high-density casing and a miniaturized but incredibly powerful experimental repulsor system, the extraordinary velocity the small weapons achieve (a significant fraction of the speed of light) enables them to deliver a stunning impact and even an impressive explosion on kinetic energy alone, making them ideal for penetrating heavily armored targets, even at extremely high speeds. Finally, the armor also contains high-powered cutting lasers and electromagnetic force generators for fine work and disarming opponents, respectively.

Weapons: See above
Uniform: Also see above - when not in his capacity as a hero, Tony tends to wear very expensive suits, though when at home he is not above shorts and a T-shirt.
Personality: Tony's reputation as an arrogant playboy with a predilection for loose women is not entirely undeserved, and this is somewhat evident in his behavior, especially at public events. A certain amount of this, however, was an act kept up to maintain the fiction that he was not and could not be Iron Man, and so this sort of behavior has been a less frequent occurrence, though he is a fun loving and sometimes too-friendly man nonetheless. He is, despite that, a very intelligent businessman and an expert with public relations, so his behavior at any given time might be either a ploy to either make friends he needs or cause potential enemies to underestimate him - not that many would be prone to do so anymore. Beneath any facade, Tony is an incredibly sharp mind and a very sharp wit, and one who is almost constantly calculating and analyzing any given situation, even behind an easy smile. He is bound by a deep sense of responsibility to do the right thing - even at the cost of any personal consequence, and he has demonstrated his willingness to sacrifice anything to protect people, especially himself, or even his image as a hero. Despite his past (and present, in truth) as a designer of lethal weapons, Tony rarely endorses killing, and will certainly not do so except in the most dire of circumstances, and he carries the guilt for any such acts with him forever. Tony is extremely hard on himself and this propensity for self-blame is one of the factors that often drove him to alcohol and contributed to his lifelong battle against his alcoholism. For years, Tony has refused to drink a single drop of liquor or even to hold a bottle, fearful that he may suffer a relapse and let his friends and those who rely on him down. Tony relies on his years of experience as Iron Man and as an engineer in combat, as well as his incredible sheer willpower, and it is this that has led some to claim that "The real Iron Man has nothing to do with the armor".
History:(Since Tony's entire history would take forever for me to type and anyone else to read, a summary is provided here. For a more detailed history as well as other info, click 'history)
Tony Stark was born the son of world famous weapon designer Howard Stark, one of the chief engineers on the Manhattan project and a prolific designer in his own right. Tony proved himself to be his father's equal - and even superior - early on, and went on to inherit his father's company, Stark International, when he was only a teenager. In this phase of his life, Tony spent years designing the world's most advanced weaponry, with a special passion for miniaturization, making things smaller, lighter, and more powerful. Everything changed, however, when he was captured by a terrorist organization while assisting the US Military in installation of some of his newest weaponry in Afghanistan, and he was to be forced to make his micromunitions and other weapons for this organization, or face death. In his capture, however, an explosive - ironically of Tony's own design - sent shrapnel into his body, which would migrate to his heart and kill him within a week, according to Ho Yinsen, a famous biomedical engineer who the terrorists had also captured.
Working together, instead of producing the weapons the group demanded, Tony and Yinsen constructed the first suit of Iron Man armor, based on a design Tony had been working on for some time and had pitched to the US Military earlier that week, only to have it shot down. The armor served both to provide the magnetic force to keep the shrapnel out of Tony's heart and to allow him to blast his way to freedom - though Yinsen was killed in the escape.
Upon returning to the United States, Tony ceased the manufacture of weapons and instead threw his company into other avenues of electronics, to the dismay of the military and his stockholders, all the while doing additional work on his Iron Man armor, and becoming the world's first completely technology-based hero. Over the years, Iron Man aided in the creation of the Avengers, and stopped countless threats from some of the world's most powerful villains. Meanwhile, Tony Stark - as the two personas were kept separate to the public's eyes - lost and regained both his company and his fortune several times, often due to the constraints inherent in living a double life, and had several bouts with his alcoholism, being expelled on multiple occasions from the Avengers when relapses caused him to become a threat to the team.
He was finally able to beat the bottle again, however, and has been a highly active hero, regaining his membership in the Avengers and serving even as Secretary of Defense on one occasion (which necessitated his final public exposure proving that Iron Man and Tony Stark were and had always been one and the same), and always working to keep his weapon designs out of the hands of any who would misuse them - though even so, his designs have been leaked by various sources (including the US government) several times.
More recently, after being beaten horribly by a terrorist who had been modified by a techno-organic enhancile called Extremis, which had been developed by a friend of Tony's from college, Tony took the Extremis enhancile himself, gaining a whole set of new abilities and powers, and allowing him to don the newer, sleeker armor design that he could not previously utilize due to his inability to sufficiently shrink down the necessary control systems to a size that would keep the new armor from being too bulky. In this armor, and with his nervous system now wired directly into the suit, he was able to soundly defeat the terrorist, and move into another phase of his career as Iron Man.
After an incident where his Extremis-enhanced mind was 'hacked', and his attempt to create a whole team of suits (codenamed the Argonauts) resulted in a worldwide catastrophe, Tony became a supporter of the Superhuman Registration Act, stating that he had been aimed and fired like a gun, and that "Every superhero is a potential gun... and in America, guns need to be registered." He came to be the leader of the pro-registration faction, and nearly led the superhuman community into an all out 'Civil War' - thankfully, he and Captain America, who led the opposite group, were able to come to an agreement, and the war was averted.
Shortly thereafter, however, Tony was attacked by an unknown assailant with intimate knowledge of his technology and even his Extremis-enhanced healing abilities. This man was able to separate Tony from his suit and beat him nearly to death after administering an injection that stalled his healing factor. Tony was left brutally injured, and remained in a coma for the next two years.
Finally, he has awoken to find that much has changed. Norman Osborn now controls his company - and much of the rest of what Tony helped to build, and in the time since, Tony has devoted himself to retraining his body and catching up to the two years of technological advancement, creating the newest and most powerful Iron Man suit yet, rebuilt the shattered Avengers, and is now working on reclaiming his company... and making sure Norman Osborn pays for every bit of what he's taken.
