Real Name: Eric Brooks
Mutant/ Hero name: Blade
code word: New Beginings
Canon or custom: Canon (Mix of Comic and Movie Versions)
Age: 48
Place of Birth: Detroit Michigan
Nationality: American
Affiliation: S.H.I.E.L.D Operative; Leader of the Nightstalkers
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Known Relatives: Tara Brooks (Mother, Dead), Deacon Frost (Vampiric Father of sorts, Dead)
Powers: Blade has shown many times that he is immune to the bite of a vampire; this is due to his healing ability obtained from the mutated vampirism. However there has been temporary cases showing his vampire instincts takeover and are enhanced due to Blade already being in a weakened state, usually from an intense battle and blood loss, But Blade now seems to embrace what he has become, but he still fears giving into his thirst.
He has an enhanced healing factor which is similar to and on par with Wolverine, but unlike Wolverine his vampire anatomy attacks any alien substances (chemicals/viruses) in his body and eliminates any chance of him being rendered helpless or maimed from the inside.
Blade has the very rare ability to smell and sense supernatural creatures. This has helped him many times to identify a demon even if they have possessed the body of a human being. He also possesses the ability to hypnotize humans in a similar fashion of normal vampires.
Blade also has a greatly prolonged lifespan which indicates that Blade may possess immortality. This is obviously due to his accelerated healing ability and has saved his life many times. The formula Blade uses to suppress his supernatural thirst also slows down his healing rate, but it is evident that Blade still has this healing ability to a very high degree.
He can see in the dark as clearly as day, which also helps him identify the glyphs on buildings and identifying vampire safe houses and blood banks. His smell, sight and hearing is also heightened to super human capacity, which makes his tracking abilities surpass even the best hunters.
Blade is stronger than most vampires. He has superhuman agility and stamina. He can jump from a building to building or jump from a roof top to the ground with little damage or fatigue, unlike vampires who would most likely die or at least be paralyzed from a fall so high. He can also move and run much faster than most vampires.
Blade has mastered all weapons and all martial arts. Blade's reflexes and senses are so refined that he re-acts before his brain can actually analyze a situation. This characteristic is found in humans, but is selectively seen in rigorously trained martial artists (this indicates that Blade has at least gained 25 to 50 years of martial arts training history in a short time.
All these abilities have been called upon at least ones in his past and they have given Blade the strength to fight such demons as the original vampire Dracula and many other powerful demons, showing he himself is a very powerful warrior and hunter.
Abilities: Blade is a master martial artist proficient in practically every form of weaponry known to man. His particular specialty is the use of edged weapons, be they teakwood daggers or swords.
Paraphernalia and Equipment: Blade uses a large arsenal of weapons including teakwood daggers; titanium, acid-etched swords; Kevlar body armor; automatic and semi-automatic firearms converted for use with hollow-point, garlic-filled silver bullets; and a variety of portable, custom-designed weapons that employ silver, garlic, sunlight, ultraviolet rays and anti-coagulants.
Personality: Dark, stoic and silent are the best words to describe Blade. He has shown that he has vast knowledge and an understanding of the bigger picture of the supernatural realm and he seems to understand that he plays a bigger part in the world than he first anticipated. Blade also knows that the world is full of unimaginable horrors and he feels that his abilities make him a key to saving humanity. On top of this he is cold, calculating and extremely intelligent. He has a sense of humor which is sometimes seen by those close to him or when challenged. His anger and ferocity are legendary among the creatures of the night; he will kill and happily terrorize anything necessary to protect what he believes in. This has also given Blade the negative reputation of going to extreme lengths and killing as many familiars as possible to get to just one vampire, Blade also kills familiars with the full vengeance and extent of his sword as he would a vampire, because he knows they want to be like vampires and they aid vampires in their demonic and satanic acts. He doesn’t show much remorse for people who give in to the viscous acts or bullying of vampires. He has expressed that he would rather let them die than help a coward.
History: Born in 1960 Eric Brooks’ mother, Tara Brooks, was attacked by the vampire Deacon Frost on the streets of Detroit Michigan, while working as a prostitute. At this time Tara was pregnant and upon being fed on and left to seemingly die she was found by several fellow working girls and taken to a hospital to receive medical attention for her wounds. Before the doctors could get to her there were complications with the pregnancy and Eric was born prematurely though surprisingly healthy. Tara died and Eric was left an orphan whom the hospital cared for till he was stable enough to be placed into the system. What no one knew at the time was that accidentally Frost had passed along certain enzymes in his own blood to the infant which resulted in Eric being gifted or in some views cursed with all the superhuman abilities of vampires as well as immunity to being turned, the ability to "smell" supernatural creatures, and greatly prolonged lifespan. He was given none of the vampire’s weaknesses except for the thirst for blood.
Eric was bounced from one foster home to another for the first 12 years of his life. The thirst had not manifested till he hit puberty but when he did he found it almost impossible to control. He ran away and lived on the streets feeding off the homeless to survive and slake the unending thrust that plagued him.
It was at this time the vampire hunter, Abraham Whistler, found him and at first thinking him a vampire hunted him through the streets until daybreak. When the sun hit the boy and he did not die Whistler knew that he was no normal vampire and decided to take him in, foster him and train him to kill the evil creatures of the night. Realizing that Eric was half human and lacked a vampire's normal weaknesses with the exception of their thirst, he developed a serum to suppress the vampiric lust for blood as well as developed several weapons and gadgets to aid his new protégé in the hunt for the undead. Whistler also taught the young boy many forms of martial arts with the help of an old friend, the ninja sensei Stick. It was during this training that he was given the nickname Blade having quickly shown and impressive and formidable expertise in edged weapons such as knives, swords and daggers.
For many years as he grew into a man Blade and Whistler continued to hunt vampires, killing them where they could and stabbing deep into the heart of the underworld of vampire society, their clans and tribes.
Among the most notorious vampires hunted by Blade was his own vampiric father, Deacon Frost, though he did not know or even suspect there was a connection between them Blade traveled the world hunting Frost until finally cornering him in Los Angeles. In his first nights in the city Blade started by tracking the movements of the vampires within the city, discovering many of their hideouts, gathering places and safe houses and obliterating all those within. This included a club run by Frost through one of his lower subordinates Quinn. This club, filled with vampires eager to feed on the human members of the crowd were quickly beset by Blade, known to them as the “Daywalker” and in the carnage he slaughtered the vampires in the club, leaving only Quinn alive and horribly burned.
Blade tracked Quinn down to a hospital, but Quinn was able to bite a resident hematologist, Dr. Karen Jenson, before escaping once again. Blade considered killing Karen, still alive and infected with the vampire virus, but decided not to due to the lingering subliminal memories of his mother upon his birth. Bringing her back to his base of operations he introduced her to Whistler who promptly scolded him for his soft heartedness and divulged to Karen Blade's Origins and their theory’s on the vampire virus. Karen resolved to study vampirism and find a cure before she became a vampire. She soon discovered that the anticoagulant EDTA reacted explosively with the vampire infection giving her the starts of a possible cure. Meanwhile, Deacon Frost began his master plans clashing with his vampire elders of Los Angeles, believing that vampires should rise from the shadows and enslave humanity. The elders shunned him for his radical view as well as because he was not born a vampire like they were but made one through the bite.
Frost started to study the ancient vampire lore in order to discover the great forgotten powers of the night breed, a way to purify his blood and rise himself above the clan leaders. He long ago came to believe that he could awaken La Magra, an ancient vampire god, to gain godlike power. With the help of the fat and disgusting record keeper of the combined vampire knowledge, Pearl, he discovered the ancient spells and rituals to raze La Magra and bring about the vampire Apocalypse. Together with his minions, he killed the chief vampire of the region and imprisoned the other elders.
Blade engaged in combat with many of Frost's various minions in an effort to uncover his plan, but Frost managed to invade Blade's lair, kidnapping Karen and mortally wounding Whistler and secretly infecting him with the vampire virus. At his behest Blade gave the infected Whistler a gun to commit suicide wishing to avoid the change into the very creature he hated, and then armed himself with a large supply of EDTA and weapons. Discovering the location he stormed Frost's home with a vengeance, overrunning many bodyguards only to discover his own mother whom he believed dead, in Frost's bed. She revealed that Frost was the vampire that bit her while Blade was still in the womb and caused him to become a daywalker. Thunderstruck, Blade was defeated, tricked by his mother and Frost and taken to the Temple of Eternal Night for Frost's blood ritual.
Within the temple Frost sacrificed the elder vampires in a magic ritual while also using Blades rare blood to gain the power of La Magra while Karen manages to break free and feed Blade her blood to renew his strength from the torture and draining, giving him the power to fight back. He promptly killed his mother, setting her free in his view while Karen went about killing Frosts other lover and helping keep several guards busy. Blade then cut through Quinn and the rest of Frost's minions before engaging Frost in impressive swordplay. Frost's new powers made him immune to normal weapons, disadvantaging Blade greatly and allowing Frost to beat upon the Daywalker at will. With no other weapons at his disposal Blade tricked frost into believing the EDTA he had in vials was his special serum, injecting him with the chemical, causing Frost to explode like an over ripe grape. Blade and Karen there after returned to Blade's lair, where Karen successfully cured herself of vampirism and offered to do the same for him, to make him a normal man who would no longer suffer from the thirst for blood. Blade chose to forgo the cure in order to continue hunting vampires with their own powers.
Weeks later, In New York's Madison Square Garden, Blade was attacked by four Doombots – who were tasked with bringing Blade to Latveria for a meeting with Dr. Doom. Blade defeated the doombots however; the battle gave him the motivation to make the trip of his own accord. Blade was informed that he was destined to save his mother from a vampire infested jail facility. Though not completely willing, Dr. Doom didn’t take no for an answer and teleported Blade years into the past. In return for saving Dr. Dooms mother he gave Blade a formula, much like his serum that could cure an individual of their bloodlust for vampires; Blade accepted the gift but didn’t use it out of suspicion of the known villain.
In time it came to Blades attention that Whistler had not been able to kill himself after all. A gang of vampires under Frosts orders had kidnapped Whistler before he was able to commit suicide and took Blade's mentor to the Czech Republic. There he was tortured repeatedly for information on Blade as well as the pleasure of the vampire nation and then placed in suspended animation to await sentencing by the vampire nations leader.
Two years of searching then brought Blade to Prague where he quickly began cuts a swath through the vampire population to find his old mentor Abraham Whistler. He rescued Whistler quickly and administered an accelerated version of the cure which was developed by Dr. Karen Jenson. Whistler revived soon after, human once again and learned that Blade had procured a new weaponsmith in his absence, a young man nicknamed Scud.
As Whistler and Scud begin to argue, a pair of vampires invaded Blade's base to deliver a truce offering between himself and the vampire nation. Blade accepts the offer, secretly hoping to use this as a way to further infiltrate vampiric society and visits the fortress of the ancient vampire Eli Damaskinos. There he learned that a disease spread by a rouge vampire mutation Jarek Nomak has created a new strain of infected vampires called Reapers that threatened to wipe out all human life on the planet. The vampires offered to ally with Blade in order to combat this mutual threat. Blade agreed and teams with the Bloodpack, an elite vampire squad that was created to battle Blade himself.
Blade and the Bloodpack then staked out a vampire nightclub, and their uneasy alliance quickly wore thin. When the Reapers attacked, Blade pursued Nomak, and learned that he too bore a personal grudge against vampires. After the battle, the group deduced that the Reapers' only weakness is ultraviolet light. They then concocted a plan to lure the Reapers into the sewers and ambush them with UV grenades. Though Blade developed an unusual and possibly romantic connection with Nyssa, the daughter of Damaskinos, he was ultimately betrayed by the Bloodpack during the ambush.
Blade, Whistler, and Scud were then taken back to Damaskinos's fortress as prisoners, where Damaskinos revealed that he created Nomak in a botched effort to breed a superior race of vampires, a breed like Blade himself invulnerable to all the weakness' of normal vampires. Scud also revealed himself as a traitor, but Blade had known for some time, only keeping the undercover familiar on to use him. Mercilessly killing Scud with his own bomb in the end Balde was then taken to be tortured and drained of his blood in order to progress Damaskinos's experimentations. Soon, having followed Blade, Nomak assaulted the fortress at which time Whistler and Blade were able to break free. Damaskinos prepared to flee, but was betrayed by Nyssa. Nomak killed Damaskinos and infected Nyssa before Blade could catch up to him. Blade and Nomak engaged in an epic battle ending with Blade stabbing Nomak in the heart through his mutated Reaper chest plate. On the brink of death, Nomak felt relieved of his pain and completed the fatal blow.
As the sun dawned that day, Blade stoically granted Nyssa her final wish to see the sun, to die as a vampire before the Reaper virus took hold of her. He carried her sadly out into the sun and watched her burn away into the wind, stroking her cheek and silently saying goodbye.
From here Blade and Whistler continued their trek across the world against the now weekend vampire nation. For one year they hunted and were hunted in return until a plan was set into motion to discredit and destroy Blade once and for all as well as rebuild the vampiric power base. The vampires finally succeed in framing Blade for the killing of a Familiar being used as bait when posing as a vampire. Blade, now in the public's eye and wanted by the FBI, was forced into hiding with Whistler. A few days later, the FBI attacked their hideout. During the siege, Whistler destroyed the hideout after being mortally wounded, killing him in the ensuing explosion. The loss of his mentor allowed Blade to be captured easily.
As the police prepared to hand Blade over to a group of vampires, Blade was rescued by a pair of hunters, Hannibal King and Abigail, Whistler's daughter. The two headed a group of vampire hunters called the Nightstalkers, formed by Blade's mentor to assist him. Blade reluctantly joined the group after learning King was once a vampire. King and Abigail reveal that Danica Talos, who was the vampire who bit King, had located and resurrected the ancient first vampire, Dracula, who in this modern era decided to refer to himself as Drake. Talos hoped that by resurrecting Dracula, he would help save the vampire race and eliminate Blade. In his first confrontation with Blade, Drake showed a sort of affinity for the "Daywalker", as they are both "honorable warriors". A battle ensued between the pair in which Abigail and King became involved in. During the beginning of the chaos, King is incapacitated by Drake.
Blade eventually came to learn about a bioweapon the Nightstalkers had created called Daystar. The weapon was capable of killing any and all vampires in a nearby area. However, there were two catches: The first was that Dracula's blood had be infused with the virus. As he was the first vampire, his DNA was still pure, which, infused with Daystar, would make it work to its maximum capacity. The second: the virus had a possibility of killing Blade, as he was also a half-vampire.
Blade and Abigail also learned of the vampire "final solution", which involved several hundred human beings being kept alive in a comatose-like state in body bags. This kept in line with vampires needing live food sources if the entire vampire race were to take over the world. Blade coldly had all of them killed, destroying their "final solution." The two then returned to find the Nightstalkers all but wiped out, the only exceptions being King, who had been kidnapped by Drake disguised as Blade's mentor, Whistler and a young girl named Zoe, the daughter of one of the now dead Nightstalkers. Blade and Abigail had no choice but to rescue King from the Talos building where he had been taken, chained and tortured for information about Daystar, and where Drake also waited for his last confrontation with the Daywalker.
When the torture of King failed to get any information, Talos instead told King that she would bite him again and leave him to feed on Zoe. Under threat of this, of hurting a young girl, he divulged a little information, enough to placate the vampires and begin them thinking of ways to change the virus to kill humans instead of vampires.
Blade and Abigail eventually entered the building and the vicious last battle for humanity began. Abigail managed kills Danica Talos' brother, Asher and King, set free, killed Jarko Grimwood while Blade engaged Drake in a sword battle. In the end, Blade impaled Drake with the Daystar virus capsule hidden within one of Abigail’s arrows, which drew his blood and releases it into the air, killing all the nearby vampires, including Danica Talos. Dracula then died after promising Blade a "parting gift." As Blade had fought honorably, Dracula transformed his body into a replica of Blade's just before he died. The FBI captured the body of who they thought was Blade and thus called off their manhunt for the Daywalker, but the body transformed back into the corpse of Drake at the morgue. His eyes opening revealing himself not to be really dead, he sat up abruptly in the morgue, attacked the FBI agents, and bit a nurse on the neck before disappearing into the night. Meanwhile Blade drove off into the night to continue the unending war against the vampires unaware of Dracula's continued unlife.
For several years after Blade continued to hunt vampires until hearing rumors of Dracula still living and planning a resurgence of power. When hunting down Dracula in Paris, Blade met up with a new group of vampire hunters, being led by Quincy Harker. Together they tracked down Dracula in London; he fought him, Morbius, and his minions though Dracula once again escaped leaving Blade to continue his lone hunt for a time.
Back in America, Blade once again found himself joining Harker's team but with another ally, Dracula himself. Here they fought a more powerful villain, Doctor Sun. After the battle, Dracula fled, with Blade hot on his tracks. He then encountered Hannibal King once again. They teamed up to defeat a Blade doppelganger, but when the doppelganger absorbed the real Blade, Hannibal called for Hellstorm, to exorcise Blade out of the fake one.
Blade, Hannibal and Doctor Strange then formed the Borderline Investigations Inc. an investigative agency that battle supernatural beings; they battle Dracula and the Darkholders. But then briefly disbanded when King left and Blade was put in a mental hospital after a fight with a resurrected Dracula. Doctor Strange them reassembled the Borderline Investigations Inc and renamed it the New Nightstalkers. When the demon Lilith hired them to kill Ghost Rider and Johnny Blaze but finding these two heroes rather then villains they all teamed up to defeat Lilith and Lilin.
Blade once again found himself fighting a resurrected Deacon Frost and Dracula, but with the help of Hannibal King and Abigail Whistler, Frost was killed yet again. He also defeated Morbius, who was being controlled by another vampire. After that he followed him to New York where Blade team-up with Spider-Man. Blade also had a run-in with SHIELD, who were trying to retrieve his blood in order to create a vampire powered operative. With the help of other vampire hunters, they were able to stop them. He then joined with other vampire hunters all over the world to prevent Dracula merging with the powers of La Magra and becoming a god.
After this, Blade tracked down Dracula once more to New York City, where he proceeded to beat both Dracula and a Vampire Spider-man. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Howling Commando's arrived on the scene hours later to confiscate the body. Blade, however, sensed something wrong with the S.H.I.E.L.D. troops. He infiltrated their hellicarrier to find that it had a major vampire infestation. He proceeded to destroy the hellicarrier.
Blade then once again became one of America’s most notorious after the police mistook his series of vampire killings as homicides and attempted to jail him. While on the run, Blade ran into a level 9 demon by the name of Animus. Blade defeated the demon and continued his run form the law.
He continued on to Long Beach, California, where he ran into a long-time rival – Morbius. The two did battle before Morbius, who was revealed to be a registered superhuman, called in S.H.I.E.L.D. to capture Blade. Blade took out several agents before being taken down. In the office of Maria Hill it was revealed Blade was a part of a contingency plan to bring down a rouge Wolverine – seeing as the tacticians felt Blade was their best shot at taking him down. Though dismayed, a newly registered Blade went after Wolverine – after a drawn out fight where the two were on the verge of killing each other, Blade realized Wolverine had saved his life years ago and that he owed his very existence to him. Blade called off the fight and stormed into Maria’s office claiming that if S.H.I.E.L.D. went after Wolverine, they would have him to deal with.
Blade then used his S.H.I.E.L.D. resources in order to fashion himself new weapons which he then tested out on none other than England’s Union Jack. After the two resolved their differences, Blade made his way back to New York where everything started out of request by the New Nightstalkers. Blade, Hannibal King, and Abigail Whistler traveled to Dracula’s Castle – now a tourist attraction – in order to attempt to complete a prophecy King believed would give all vampires’ back their souls. All it would require would be for Blade to drop a piece of his blood and the stake he used to kill Dracula to the salted ground. Blade declines – and a furious Hannibal King attacks him. Blade made short work of King and Abigail – however Dracula arrived on the scene with an individual resembling a young Abraham Whistler in order to help Hannibal to complete the prophecy. Dracula shattered Blades arm tarring his flesh open to spill his blood; the young Abraham Whistler then broke Dracula’s control and attacked him, but was easily kicked to the ground. Enraged Blade charged at Dracula, yet was knocked into King who accidentally dropped the vial containing the stake fragment that killed Dracula. It shattered on the ground, however they felt no different. They all realized Dracula had been manipulating King the entire time – not into giving vampires’ back their souls – but into resurrecting every single vampire that had ever died. Blade and Hannibal part ways but not before Blade gives Hannibal the serum Dr. Doom had made to cure a vampire of his or her bloodlust.
Blade as since continued his quest of destroying all vampires including his long time enemy Dracula. He now and then works for SHEILD when requested as well as the New Nightstalkers but prefers to hunt the shadows of the world by himself.
RP Sample:
Blade silently stalked the night cloaked streets of Rome, his eyes peeled, his senses at their peek and his hands gripped tightly to the repeating silver stake weapon. “Where are you punk…?” He whispered turning the corner of a tight street into an even darker ally where he was sure his quarry waited ready to strike out at him. “Come on… I know you’re there… No use in hiding.” The Daywalker smirked to himself while scanning the old brick walls of this ancient city through his dark shades, quite out of place in such a shadowed place.
“Who said we are hiding…” A hissing voice wafted through the air akin to the very breeze as not one but three pale faced punkish looking teens made there presence known, surrounding Blade with sneering looks tattooed to their faces.
The Daywalker only smirked to himself, his dark lips curling as his eyes moved from one vampire to the other and back again, his stance never moving. “Is that it?” He questioned gruffly with a laugh. Without waiting for an answer he lunged forward stabbing one of the young vampires in the chest with a silver blade sprung from the wrist of his leather trench coat then turned and fired his stake gun hitting another in the head and throat watching them both burn and explode into ashes.
The last vampire in a panic attempted to flee, crawling his way up the wall of the building only to find a cord around his throat pulling him down to the ground then with a foot on his chest the cord tightened severing his head from his neck.
Blades boot fell through the vampire punks chest as he burst into ashes then without another word turned and walked out of the ally, dusting himself off and once again disappearing into the night knowing their were three less bloodsuckers on the streets tonight.

(I designed him to be a mix of the movie and comic versions of him by mixing the histories and rearranging some events if that’s ok)
