Powers:
Brock is a journalist with skills in weight lifting / body building. The alien costume, which has grafted itself to the nervous system of Eddie Brock, somehow absorbed the powers of Spider-Man during its brief symbiotic relationship with him. These powers were transferred to Brock, so long as he wares the costume. Brock has conditioned himself to lift (press) almost 700 lbs before he came into contact with the alien and merged with it. With the symbiote he is able to lift (press) almost 11 tons or more. The alien costume also replicated Spider-Man’s ability to cling to walls by controlling the flux of inter-atomic attraction between molecular boundary layers. As Venom, Brock can also shoot strands of the alien’s substance in the form of webbing at high pressure up to a distance of 70 feet. The alien’s substance seems to be composed of tough, flexible fibers of organic polymers, which regenerate swiftly after shedding. The strands have extraordinary adhesive properties, which diminish rapidly once they abandon their living source. After about three hours, with no source to nourish them, the strands dry up like dead skin and dissolve into a powder. The strands possess a tensile strength of 125 pounds per square millimeter of cross section. Venom also possesses an extrasensory ability similar to Spider-Man’s spider-sense. This response is not as complicated as Spider-Man’s inherent sense since the alien costume can detect danger from every direction and conduct Brock in plenty of time the only draw back being that Brock’s reflexes are not as fast as Spider-Man’s, even though they are enhanced by the alien costume. When distributed at a typical thickness over Brock's body, the symbiote is capable of absorbing bullets from small-arms weapons firing conventional ammunition. Also the symbiote has the power to blend in with any background including pure darkness and even clear crystal water. The symbiote also provides Brock with an accelerated healing ability which allows him to heal in says what it would take years to recover from, a genetic memory which allows him to recall information from previous hosts as well as store his own memories within it. The Symbiote also has the ability to shape-shift, from mimicking clothing up to and including complete change of appearance and stature.
Abilities: Brock is am expert journalist with skills in weight lifting / body building.
Weakness: The symbiote is particularly vulnerable to both sonic and heat-based attacks. Additionally if he expends too much of the symbiotic substance in any way it will take some time for it to regenerate.
Paraphernalia and Equipment: None
Weapons: Only those created through the symbiote.
Uniform: The Symbiote aka The Living Costume
Personality: Normally without the symbiote Eddie is a sensible and logical man, polite, witty, funny and even sarcastic at times. Since being diagnosed with cancer he has been a little darker of mood and since his bonding with the Symbiote some consider him to be a bit more unstable. Despite this he retains his intelligence and ability for analytical and journalistic thinking. He retains a sense of honor all be it a bit twisted. His wish to protect innocents overrides all other compulsions and qualms up to the point of hurting, maiming, mutilating and even killing those he considers guilty. Brock shows himself to be prone to extremely violent mood swings whenever separated from his other, showing none of the joviality displayed when fighting as Venom. He often broods over his crimes, expressing a great deal of guilt until once again being rejoined and once again becoming the lethal protector.
History: Attracted by the adrenaline caused by his cancer and there mutual hatred of Spider-Man, the symbiote bonded with Brock inside the church to become Venom, Spider-Mans worst and possibly most deadly enemy (and later a valued if not strained ally). Brock soon discovered that the costume gave him all the powers of Spider-Man, and more. It also added bulk to his already large frame and increased his strength to superhuman levels.
The symbiote soon began to mirror the almost deranged hatred within Brock. The main body image stayed the same as that of Spider-Man when he wore the suite including the white spider over the chest but differentiated by growing claws on there hands and a large dagger sharp fang filled mouth with a reptilian like tongue where its face once mirrored the blank mask of the web slinger.
There combined animosity towards Spider-Man soon caused them to taunt Peter Parker with minor assaults, such as pushing him in front of a moving subway train and stalking him from the shadows only allowing him to know someone was there but not who. The alien costume could cancel out the Peter’s spider-sense by projecting conflicting frequencies upon his brain waves allowing him to attack and get the drop on him whenever he wished.
Venom finally made a bold move by moth assaulting Spider-Mans ex girlfriend/lover The Black Cat by breaking her nose and almost killing her and by confronting Parker’s wife, Mary Jane, at their old apartment. Although Venom’s twisted sense of morality did not allow him to physically harm Mary Jane, Spider-Man immediately realized the nature of this threat. Taking the time to retrieve the sonic blaster from the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man challenged Venom at Our Lady of Saints Church. Although he fired the blaster at Venom, Spider-Man soon discovered that the symbiote could not be separated from Brock because it had completely bonded with him. Trying to escape and rethink his options, Spider-Man was caught unaware by Venom. He captured Spider-Man and secured him to the inside of the church bell with a considerable amount of webbing. Spider-Man narrowly escaped the bell’s crushing clapper before defeating Venom by forcing him to deplete his webbing supply, of which the alien symbiote was actually comprised. Before the alien could regenerate enough of its mass to become a renewed threat, Spider-Man brought Venom to the Fantastic Four who imprisoned him in a sonic containment cell. The Fantastic Four then shipped Venom to the government super-prison in the Colorado Rockies called the Vault.
Venom would eventually escape and continue his vendetta against Spider-Man as well as becoming a vigilantly in his own right, protecting innocents with lethal force. At time Venom and Spider-Man would join forces to fight such foes as Carnage (the spawn of Venom bonded to the insane serial killer Cletus Kasady), The Sinister Six (of which he was a brief member of) and many more. On several occasions the symbiote would be separated from Brock either voluntarily or forcibly and would bond with others like The Hulk, Ann Weying (who would later commit suicide) and others but would always return to Brock in the end to recreate the true Venom.
Eventually during one of his many adventures Eddie would be confronted by a new pack of enemies, droid robots on Goblin Gliders. Dozens of them were attacking him at one time with heat and sonic beams. In the ensuing battle several city blocks are damaged and Venom is able to fend off the attackers until their tactics change to target civilians. Venom was hard pressed to both battle the droids and protect the innocent people of the street.
Venom fell saving a chide from a missile barrage.
Fire burned all around them….
Darkness came…
When he awoke next Eddie found himself in a stasis tube like structure, separated from his other who languished in its own tube not far away.
RP Sample:
Nightmares, Suffocation, Intense Heat, Intense Cold… He felt all these things…
How long had he been asleep?
When had he fallen unconscious?
Why…
The eyes of Eddie Brock slowly began to open as these thoughts flooded his waking mind. His mind had been riddled with nightmares… or were they memories? A team of men in armored suits attacking him from all sides with flame throwers and sonic rifles… Then there was darkness followed by light, bright unbearable light and the maniacal voice of a man cackling through the hum of the sonic suppressor beams that held his other at bay. Lastly the pain… the unbearable pain as the noise was amplified… his other screeching… the searing pain of it being torn away… and then the cold... the loneliness… the sleep.
Eddie tried to move, tried to stretch his aching throbbing limbs but he quickly found he could not. Held in restraints, under water, in a tube lit only by a green light above he was held.
They were not nightmares.
He growled under the breathing bas attached to his face as his eyes began to focus through the water that surrounded his naked form. Beyond there lay a dark room with many shapes, shapes of medical devices, of a metallic bed with restraints and devices hanging above. The only other light in the room was that of another tube with its own green light and inside the floating form of a black and white mass.
His other…
Eddie growled even more as he struggled harder and more violently in the restraints that held him. Harder and harder he fought until finally one of his muscular arms managed to snap the bonds which held it. If anyone were around they would have seen the smile peaking from under the breathing mask as he raised the hand to eye level and looked it over.
His hand.
His strength.
He looked out into the darkness again scanning the darkened and seemingly abandoned laboratory. Where am I he asked himself from under the mask while also wondering how long he had been there? Eddie flexed his hand in front of his face feeling the stiffness in the joints and knuckles then reached it out to touch the glass of his containment tube in the direction of his other.
So close… yet so far. He growled more in anger as he punched at the glass which contained him. Slamming his fist into it over and over again until finally… a crack…
Brock continued to slam his fist through the water against the glass watching the crack grow and spread, widening until at last the tube completely shattered spilling the water out in with tumbling force and spreading across the floor. With his free hand he then pulled the mask away from his breath and breathed normal air for the first time in he did not know how long.
The air was as stale as the room was dark for this place had not been used in a long time. An abandoned laboratory where only he and his other seemed to have remained forgotten or perhaps left preserved for another time. Either way Brock knew he had to free himself and his other now. They had to be whole once more…
